The lagoon, full of water again

Now, A Frouxeira lagoon, in Valdoviño, is full of water again. After beeing with low level, during Spring months, channel has closed, allowing level increase bit by bit. In coming weeks, waters will reach cover the whole reedbed.

Among clears, we could see different aquatic birds, as ducks or coots, if we stay on a high place for better watching.

Grey heron (Ardea cinerea)

This Little Greebe was resting on northeast corner. When hidric level is so high, Greebes are scattared across the lagoon and flooded reedbed.

After, went to see the sea in Meirás. Today, a very rough sea hit against shore with unusual force. Truly, I was contemplating Nature power at this very moment. Photos don´t make the idea about inmense waters force.

I wait for you on next post. Bye!

  1. I love the little grebe and the sea photos. But the translation is hilarious!

High water level in the lagoon is bad news, isn't it?

    Best wishes, Eileen Walters.

    1. Well... It´s a complicated question, Eileen...I ignore how Frouxeira was a century ago but today this is a serious problem. Not cause it cold flood private farms (those houses never had to be built there!!), but also it floods whole ecosystem. It´s quite difficult to explain for me. You better have to come here and see how brutal this flood is.
      Regards.
